| swanton00's Full Review: Massachusetts |
Hmmmmm, what to say about my home state and city? Well, to start this is a review on a city in Mass, Fall River. Yes, my hometown sucks. Can't put it in much better words. I have lived here all 14 years of my life, and it hasn't changed a bit. Fall River is about one hour from Boston, that's the best I can tell ya. The cities cheap, half of the streets around have all pot holes, cracks and are dirt roads. There's broken and fallen stop signs and stuff often. Well, now it can't be all that bad right? I mean we got a mall, many restaurants, many schools, convenient stores and other crap that a city needs. Well, the mall sucks, most restaurants are fast food, and the schools suck. Are tourist attractions aren't great either. We got a battleship from WW2, old mills that were once big producers, and an Angry Drunken Dwarf. That's one of the coolest things about this city, we got an Angry Drunken Dwarf named Hank. He is a celebrity that doesn't care about signing autographs or being seen by fans. I mean I was driving up and avenue and seen him and my Dad called out for him. Well, I guess now for some history.
History
Fall River has some history. However, nothing I find really exiting. We have some big murder cases such as Lizzie Borden murdering her parents. Well, Lizzie Borden had an axe, whacked her father.....ummm some number of times, whacked her mother.....more times. The point is that in some year in the late 1800's a young lady named Lizzie Borden killed her parents with an axe. She was good at hiding the evidence and she did get brought to court. However, she was set free as innocent and lived a good rich life. Why'd she do it? Don't know. Did she do it alone? Don't know.
Another part of Fall River's history has been there major factories in the 1800's. Yea, back then Fall River had the biggest factories for fabric. Well, those mills are all run down now. I believe there still being used for stuff but when your outside of them, they look haunted and abandoned. Not much else to say about that.
Attractions
We have a few attractions, one is Lizzie Borden's house which is a bed and breakfast now. It attracts people from all over, I have never been but I would like to go sometime. However, one thing that will keep some people away is the rumor that the house is haunted. Is it true? Don't know.
Another attraction is our big battleship from World War 2. It's the real ship that helped the Americans greatly in the war. You can go in the cannons or gun controls, whatever you want to call them. They have a restaurant and a bar. You can walk just about anywhere on the ship. I have been inside before a few time and I would like to go again. It's always open to the public. In the same dock with it, they have some other war ships such as a submarine and stuff. I've been on two or three of them.
Not Attractions, but there what we go to
The Mall: Possibly the worst mall I have ever been to. It's small, no good stores, and boring. It has has a theater which sucks. The food for it is expensive and the popcorn tastes really low quality. There's also an arcade. It's OK sized but it doesn't have anything good. Some of the newest stuff is like Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Right from there you should realize it never gets new games. I think the arcade is a waste of money. The Mall has some good stores though. One of them is Fye. It used to be called Record Town. They are a bit over priced though. K-Mart has cheap music, but not a great selection.
Restaurants: We have quite a few of these, however most of them are fast food. McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Subway, D'angelo's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Papa Gino's, and Domino's are among them. Some of our better ones include; China Buffet 2001, Wah Mee, China Star, and well, the Chinese restaurants. Most of these places aren't really to pricey. Well, we have some good restaurants.
Other Places: We have many others places like barber shops, beauty salons, and convenient stores.....my favorite! For barber shops and beauty salons we got Fantastic Sam's (my favorite), Guy's and Doll's, and some place my mother goes to.......errr what was the name? There are of course many other places like that, but I just choose those three. For convenient stores we have places like Store 24 (across from Wah Mee), Brooks Pharmacy, Texaco Gas Station, and some other gas station stores. I find Brooks to be the cheapest and biggest, which makes it my favorite.
Final Comments
Well, with that all said and done, I will wrap this up. If you live around Mass, Fall River would be an OK place to visit for a little bit. It has a few good places to see like Lizzie's house and the battle ship. Try it for a day!
