Sam's Town Hotel and Casino is the place that we have chosen to stay on all three of our weekend getaways to Tunica, Mississippi. Located on Casino Strip Blvd. on Highway 304, not only is it very easily found, but you have free 24 hour shuttle access to Harrah's and Hollywood casinos that are located right across the highway.
Sam's Town Hotel offers 850 beautiful rooms and elegant suites, decorated in a western motif, on 5 floors. The casino itself is 2 floors, with over 1500 slot machines and 60 game tables including blackjack, craps, roulette, live keno and live poker. They have several variations of card games including 3 card poker, mini baccarat, Caribbean Stud, and Pai Gow Poker. The dealer's are very friendly and helpful, especially when learning a new game. They cheer with you when you win. Sam's is the only casino in Tunica to offer live keno play. They also have tournaments in slots, black jack and keno at various times.
Now if gambling isn't your game, that's not all that Sam's Town has to offer. You have your choice of three restaurants. First, there's Billy Bob's Steak House and Saloon for the best of steaks. For those who like buffet style dining, the Uptown Buffet is for you. The price is right and the choices are vast. They offer lobster and crab legs on Wednesday and Friday evenings. We ate there on Sunday evening and they had lobster on the buffet that evening, as well, although it wasn't advertised. For barbecue lovers, Corky's Ribs and BBQ has been voted as Memphis' number one BBQ since 1994 and is located on the main floor right outside the casino.
Sam's Town also provides live entertainment, nightly, at Roxy's Live. There's also the 1600 seat River Palace Arena with World Class Talent appearing regularly.
For golf lover's, it's the 18 hole, River Bend Links Golf Course located right next door.
So when you are tired of winning all that money, and you have your belly full of good food, what can you do? Walk across a wooden footbridge over a winding brook to the swimming pool, relax in the hot tub, or just rest under the gazebo.
So after this wonderful description of all this, right under your finger tips, you are probably wondering how expensive, right? Sam's Town is very affordable with rooms starting at $39 per night, Sunday-Thursday and on Fridays, Saturdays and Holidays they start at $59 per night.
So plan a trip and get away to Sam's Town today. You won't regret it and you may come home with some extra money in your pocket after playing their loose slots or winning at one of their many table games. We did!
