When going to Branson, one must think of a great place to eat, too. Here's an awesome idea: drive about 15 miles north on Hwy 65 until you come to the intersection of J and CC. Take a right turn, and go eat at Lambert's Cafe.
The place is amazing. First when you walk in you notice all these dozens of old merchandise serving now as decorations. There might be a line, when I went there wasn't, but if you go during the evening hours, you might end up waiting outside. I suggest going during daytime when they're not that busy.
They will seat you, they take the drink order, and you get a menu. Now, the items on the menu are a little high - they range from about $8 to $20. I ordered "Golden Fried Chicken" (came with 2 sides), which cost $9.99. But remember that here you can eat as much as you want, and if you finish the plate they will bring you a new one! There is no sharing meals, but that's because of the "pass-arounds". They walk around the restaurant with big buckets, serving fresh hot rolls, fried okra, potatos, black eye peas... You can get these for free when you order a meal. And again; you can eat as much as you want. Their drinks are also big and plenty; you get a big mug and they will also refill them.
But the big thing about Lambert's are the throwed rolls. They go around throwing rolls!! The rolls come straight from the oven, still warm, and they will throw them out to people who want some. After the Roll Man has visited, he will go around passing sorghum, which is really thick. They also sell it for about $5. You can also buy a dozen rolls for about $4-5.
When you are done eating and paying, notice the train. There is a little train up close to the ceiling when you walk out. A nice detail, I thought. The place is full of details/decorations, though, ranging from newspaper articles to old machines.
But there is no real way of describing it all - you just have to take the drive from the busy Branson, and drive up to Ozark, MO. It doesn't take too long, and you will be glad you did.

UPDATE:
I went back to Lambert's on March 15th (saturday). We got there at about 3 pm and figured not very many people would be there since it wasn't lunch or dinner time. We were wrong. There were tons of people waiting outside! They had people sign in (name and size of your party) and then they got people in in order they arrived.
We were told the waiting time would be an hour and 10 minutes, and it ended up being 50 minutes. I ordered the same meal as last time (Fried chicken), and had fried apples and applesauce as my two sides. My boyfriend ordered a hamburger steak, which was huge! He liked it but couldn't finish all of it because there was so much of it. Of course the rolls were good again... Wouldn't mind having those every now and then at home...
Our meals ended up costing us about $25. We had two meals, $9.99 each, and a Coke and a water. A good deal I think. I can't stress enough the size of everything, you get as much food and drink as you want!
