My boyfriend and I just got back from a trip to Branson, Missouri. We are in our late twenties and I wasn't sure that we would find anything entertaining to see during the dark hours of the day. We took a trip down the strip and came across a sign, glowing with lights all around. We just had to see the Spirit of the Dance production.
The Spirit of the Dance was performed within the Bobby Vinton theatre and that in itself was a beauty to behold. As you enter the door, this theatre is painted with heavenly scenes and sparkling stars hanging from above. I was in awe. The entire place is a bold hue of blue and it is just breathtaking to view.
Tickets can be purchased for the Spirit of the Dance in advance. The show is approximately 2 hours in length and very affordable compared to most shows in Branson. We paid 22 dollars per adult for our tickets. The Spirit of the Dance has made a three year contract with Branson, performing many shows a week between May and December.
The dancing is a combination of ballet, Irish dancing similar to River dancing, Flamenco and Jazz. There is a story of sorts and singing also involved. The performance is done by a group of very skilled dancers and they can move like no other dancers I have ever seen. No matter what type of dancing you prefer you will love watching these performers. And the troupe constantly changes clothing and dancing styles so that you never become bored. The performance we saw in Branson also had a female fiddler and she was very pleasing to the crowd.
I highly suggest going to this show if you ever have a chance, no matter where they are located. This show is selling out all over the world. It will be something that you will remember for a lifetime.
