The newly-finished Paris Hotel in Las Vegas has leaped on to the new trend of upscale, expensive buffets. At $21.95, the Sunday Brunch is a far cry from the days of $5 all-you-can-eat cheap eats.
But this is a fine buffet, with excellent diversity, quality, and freshness, and a very nice atmosphere. Remove yourself from the smoke-filled casinos, pull yourself out of the Wheel of Fortune Trance, and treat yourself to a well-earned meal.
One of the things that usually bothers me about Buffets is that although quantity is high, quality bites. I have now been disgusted twice by the nasty Rio buffet food, and was too eager to try a new buffet. However, the food at Le Village was quite delicious, and much of it is prepared as you wait. Note the custom-made crepe and waffle stands. Yum. Also fantastic are the cheese blintzes with apple compote. I don't care for fish or strong cheese much, but other patrons really enjoyed the seafood assortment (crab's legs and the like) as well as the collection of European cheeses. Delicious, well-presented pastries line the dessert bar, but if you have room for just one dessert, do try the bruleed-as-you- wait, custom-made bananas foster with fresh whipped cream.
The waiters frequently arrived at our table with coffee, juice, and champagne refills.
Most impressive is the decor. Quite distinct from most buffets, the crowd is controlled by dividing the restaurant into many smaller sections. It is designed to resemble a Parisian street scene, complete with cafe facades, streetlight, a blue, cloud-filled sky, and some cottages which you also may eat in.
They also carefully separate the smokers and non-smokers. Which was a welcome advantage.
I think you'll like this one.
