I visited Las Vegas with family in April of 2001.
First glance of Las Vegas is WOW. Its so overwhelming its almost like being in a BIG Carnival. There is so much to do here and we had so little time. For my next visit, and yes there will be a next visit I will allow more time there.
I was so awestruck by the lights and bells. I love the fact that this town truly never sleeps. We took a walking tour of the Strip (bring good comfortable walking shoes or better yet take the trolly cars). It was quite impressive I was truly taken by the Venetian Hotel where when you go in to the Forum and it feels like you are in Italy. While shopping in the plaza the sky actually changes to dusk.
If you are going to play in the casinos make sure you sign up at their guest services to get a card with which you can earn points for free gifts. (listen your going to spend the money in the machine you may as well go home with a token gift)
I was able to catch the LaCage show at the Riveria. What a hoot, talk about a laugh a minute, this show is a must see bring tissues as this show will bring tears to your eyes. These folks can really put on a show and honey you wouldn't believe these guys are female impersonators, they do such a fantastic job in impersonating such stars as Cher, Diana Ross, Reba McIntyre, Bette Midler and more. I'm looking forward to catching this one again on my next trip. Too bad they don't allow you to video tape heck if they sold a video tape of the show I saw I would have bought it.
