Myrtle Beach is the ultimate vacation location. You have a beautiful ocean, with sparkling water, and all the entertainment you could ever dream about. There is something for everyone at Myrtle Beach.
When my family visited Myrtle Beach for the first time 5 years ago, I was astounded at how many things there were to do. You could go jump in the ocean and cool off, then head to one of the many golf courses(over 110 in all) and play a round of golf. Then you could go shopping at one of Myrtle Beach's many wonderful shopping malls. If you forgot to bring beach supplies, stop at one of the great beach stores, such as Eagles, or buy some fireworks to celebrate your wonderful vacation. After dark, you could go downtown and party all night long at one of the clubs. For the more modest, you could go see one of the many excellent shows, such as the Carolina Opry or (my personal favorite), the Dixie Stampede. If you want to make a quick day excursion, Charleston, two hours south of Mrytle Beach has many elegant houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. You could go see Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began while you are in Charleston also.
Myrtle beach combines the raw beauty of the low country, with good Southern hospitality (Yankees are welcome, if they behave) and great entertainment to make itself into one of the best resort cities on the East coast.
