For our family vacation we went to Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. After leaving there it just didn't seem to be what we expected. We wanted to ride more roller coasters than what was offered there. So, the next morning we decided to go to Knott's Berry Farm. It would be a good way to introduce big roller coasters to our 9 year old and also our 12 year old who likes riding on big roller coasters.
We got there at 9:45 A.M., fifteen minutes before the theme park opens. We went to the short-line to purchase our tickets. Out of nowhere this nice lady handed me three coupons to get in for $22.95 for adults and $12.95 for children 3-11 years old. That was a great discount. For the regular price was running for $41.95 for adults and $16.95 for children. That already made my day.
When we walked in we went to the first roller coaster we saw which was the Gold Rush. I was surprised that the line was one hour long. The reason being was that everyone went to the Gold Rush first, too. We did ride this roller coaster several times later on in the day. It was a very fun wooden old fashion roller coaster that was just right for my 9 year old first big roller coaster and also for my 12 year old to want to ride it over and over. We road all the roller coasters that were operating that day. The Xcelerator was the best one of them all. This roller coaster went 82 mph taking off. When we were waiting in line for this ride, just to see how the people faces on the ride looked had us laughing so hard. It looked like there faces were pulled back tight from the speed. My 9 year old was a little nerves at first, but had enough courage to get on and loved it. So, off course we got off and went back in line to ride it again. The park closed at 11 P.M. but we road all the rides more than once, so we left at 9:30 P.M.
