Pros:something for everyone, reasonable price
Cons:food is expensive, you can't control the weather

I first took my family to Michigan's Adventure a few years ago. We had been looking for something nearby to do since I only had three days of vacation time. We decided on Michigan's Adventure since we got a discount for bringing Dr. Pepper cans, and I'm glad we did. We have gone back every summer since that first trip.

There are rides for all age groups... Everything from flying elephants for the little ones, to the giant gondolla wheel for me, and several roller coasters for the teens.

My favorite ride is the gondolla wheel. It's a giant ferris wheel. From the top, you can look out across the entire park. My daughter didn't like that much since she is afraid of heights, but I loved it.

My two youngest boys enjoyed the flying elephants, and the other childrens rides, and occasionally, I did manage to get them on the gondolla wheel and the loggers run with me.

The older kids spent most of their time on the various roller coasters. Shivering Timbers was a big hit with them, as was the Corkscrew.

Later, we went out to the parking lot and ate our picnic lunch by the car since the food inside is a bit costly and you aren't allowed to bring food into the park. We enjoyed our picnic then returned to the park.

Once inside, we decided to enter the Water Park, which is basically part of the amusement park. I enjoyed drifting around the Lazy River on an innertube while my youngest dozed beside me for a short nap.

The older kids had a blast in the Wave Pool. They loved swimming out among the waves. The younger ones played near the shore so the waves would not knock them down.

By the time the park closed, we were all exhausted and ready to return to the campground 1 1/2 miles from the park. We had set up the tent the night before and spent our second night there before returning home the following day.

It was a great vacation, and we all had a wonderful time.
