This is definitely not the place I remember as a child. It's really gone downhill and fast. The park was very messy with trash overflowing from most garbage cans. The day we went it was so utterly hot I thought I was going to have a heatstroke.
LINES LINES LINES
You are going to have to wait in long lines. Lines so long it makes you want to cry. With four others I waited in line for almost two hours before getting to the front to be told when we were four people away that the ride was closing down for the nickelodeon daily parade. They never told us and could've eliminated a lot of unnecessary waiting and miserable hassle in the blazing sun. When I complained to a guy with a name tag that read Mike, he told me simply I was complaining to the right person but there was nothing he could do as there weren't enough people on staff to notify the people in line the wait was useless.
PRICES
Hold onto your wallets because you are going to be spending upward of $6-8 dollars each for a cold drink. Bottled waters in the lines are available for $3.00. Overpriced cheaply made stuffed animals and games are everywhere as far as the eye can see and beyond.
Food
The last day I was there, we had pizza for one meal, which was horrifyingly overpriced ($18) and disgustingly flat and tasteless. Countless overpriced watered down melted drinks. Also boardwalk fries, they were actually excellent but $7 bucks for a small serving but you could add all the spices you wanted.
It is not uncommon to wait in line upward of two and three hours per ride, it's almost heartbreaking when the rides breakdown after your wait as well. The employees are very cold and short with you when questioned. I have never seen lines to ride as out of control as they are at Kings Dominion, at other amusement parks.
I didn't get to catch any shows as it was simply so hot you couldn't breathe so watching a show was out of the question.
Rides, the rides are very average at best if you can stomach the wait that is also providing the ride doesn't break down just as your turn gets closer.
The Grizzly will always be my favorite. Also Anaconda is a close second if you are into coasters.
I waited in line upward of two hours to ride Flight of fear as just as with other rides as we finally waited in the snaking lines, walked up cement stairs that twisted into a spaceship someone vomited on the ride and it was closed down for an hour for cleaning so we didn't get to ride that one either.
I think parking was $3
We bought discount tickets to the park that were $30 each.
If you really want to have a fun time I suggest not going to this park.
