Pros:Close to home
Cons:Not very organized, lots of unsupervised kids
The Bottom Line: Great Place for the 5 and under set!

Took my 20 month old to Sesame Place recently. We went on a Thursday, it was overcast and not blazing hot. Really a perfect day for an amusement park.

We stopped at the rest area just before the exit (off the Delaware Mem. Bridge) - they sold discount tickets, so we saved ourselves a good $15. Buying tickets ahead of time turned out to be a good idea. We arrived at the park at 10:30, and there were several lines to purchase tickets at the gate. We were able to just breeze in.

First stop was locker rental. Don't use the one right in the front of the park - everyone rushes there and there could be a line. We went to the lockers at the back of the park - near the Count's fountain - no line, no crowds.

Alot of the rides are not appropriate for 2-3 yr olds, such as most of the slides, the climbing net and the roller coaster.

Liam liked the Teeny Tiny tidal wave, which is just a wading pool with a couple of fountains. Not very crowded. We went on the lazy river ride, they let Liam ride in the same tube as my husband. The line was a little slow because of people putting life vests on smaller children (I was a culprit), they should really put those near the beginning of the ride. Quick tip: there are two entrances to the Lazy river, try the one near Captain Ernie's grill. When we floated by it, there was not a single person waiting.

The Little Bird's birdbath & Count's fountain were somewhat crowded - mostly with unsupervised kids that looked way too old for those pools (around 6 or 7).

We went to see Elmo's world live - what a disappointment. Very disorganized as far as getting people in & out. No air conditioning, so it got really stuffy really quick. If your child is a big fan, get there really early for a front row or aisle seat. My son lost interest after about 3 minutes. I would recommend Big Bird's revue over this.

The characters were very available for picture taking, and that was quite organized, surprisingly. Each character had a "handler" with them that queued up parents for pictures. No problems there.

All in all, we had a great day. We'll probably be back in a year or two - I think Liam will appreciate the characters more and be able to enjoy more of the attractions.
