| VisorV's Full Review: Universal Studios Florida |
I had never been to Universal Studios before, but not being too much of a ride person, I was somewhat sketchy on going. I was going to be with more adventurous people than myself, and didn't want to hold anyone back from doing what they wanted to do. I was told not too worry, and that I would like this place. When we arrived, we were able to get special passes that allowed us to "cut" the waiting line. It was somewhat like a priority pass. When more people started pouring into the park, it was easy to see the importance of getting this pass.
As soon as we entered we headed straight for the Twister attraction, we waited in line for a good half hour before we actually got in the building. Typical Florida and all, the temperature was quite warm, and being from Connecticut, I was not used to it. Luckily there were sparatically placed fans that sprayed a pleasurable mist along the waiting lines and various places in the park. You don't realize the importance of these until around early afternoon or so, when the mercury pushes 100 degrees.
Anyway, like I said earlier, i am not a rides type person. The good thing is, is that many of the attractions at Universal, are theatre, and virtual stimulations. It was great! I could go on every single thing. I have to say that the Hanna-Barbara ride was definitely my favorite! everyone first goes into a room where Elroy Jetson is kidnapped and Yogi and BooBoo bear are sent to rescue him. Everyone then travels into a second room, where there are booths that sit 4 people. when you sit in these booths, a bar secures you in. In the front of the room is a huge screen in which Yogi appears. Yogi then begins to operate a space ship to go after Elroy, this of course is where the booths come in. It is a stimulated ride where you feel like you are in the shuttle he is driving. you are lifted about a foot off the ground, and shaken all around. It was great. And this is how many of the rides are, along with 3-D illusions and all.
Unfortunately our day was cut short, when a passing rain turned into a torrential down pour assisted by thunder and lightning. This was enough to call it a day at the park, and I was not able to go on many of the anticipated rides that the park is known for. I suppose there is always next time. I do recommend visiting this park, it is appealing to everyone.
