Our trip to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure was a BLAST! We had so much fun. We have been twice, and I recommend getting the two day, two park pass which enables you to go back and forth from Islands to Universal for two days. We enjoyed this more than a whole day at one park and then a day at the other.
Our favorites at Universal Studios...Back to the Future- this ride was great! We enjoyed King Kong, Jaws, Earthquake, and the Terminator 2 was wonderful!! Our favorite place to eat here is The Monster Cafe. The pizza and Caesar salad was very good, and we felt we got our money's worth, much more so than at some of the eateries. And Frankenstein's monster was also there too.
The park is nice and clean, and cheerful music plays throughout. I had just as much fun as my eight year old son, maybe more!! We can't wait to return!
Islands of Adventure was a real treat. The first time we went it was not supposed to be open yet, but we got a sneak peak for a half price ticket.
I really love this place, with all the cartoons and stuff. It brings back childhood memories. Also, the roller coasters are killer! If you like coasters, this is the place to be.
We enjoyed the water rides...Popeyes Bilge Rat Barge was a souped up Thunder River (Six Flags), and Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls was way
way too much!! It was great, - really scary...you should have seen how we were trying to hold on in that one!! It was too funny! I was holding on with one hand, holding my kid with the other, had one leg wrapped around him while trying to get some traction on a wet floor with the other! We were so scared! I don't know if I will try that one again..but I probably will!! I have never gotten that wet on a ride. The Jurassic Park water ride was great too.
We ate Green Eggs and Ham (which was surprisingly good) and at Wimpys Hamburgers (which was really really bad) but food is not what we go to theme parks for!
Don't miss the Cat in the Hat ride (kids and adults will enjoy this one, and it is cooooool inside...temperature that is).
But, the ULTIMATE ride EVER is in this park!!!!!! SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never ridden anything like this in my life! It is worth the admission price just to ride Spidey. I won't go into details, but this one makes you feel like you are really doing what it is pretending to make you feel like! The first rise to the top...and the plunge dooooown! I hold on for dear life every time. Do NOT miss this one!!!!!
