We have traveled to Universal Studios Florida this past year and also two years ago. This past year we also visited the new Islands of Adventure Theme Park. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed the Universal Studios themeparks, I fear that my children (aged 4 and 2) did not. The parks are definitely geared for an older crowd. Many of the rides had height restrictions that my kids did not meet. Also, the Hanna Barbara ride had a height restriction on it! My daughter could not ride it! It is a kids cartoon and she was unable to ride it! That still boggles my mind. Many other attractions went right over their heads also, like the T3 attraction. The 3-D glasses did not fit their heads properly and they didn't understand the presentation. Islands of Adventure did have the Dr. Seuss area that was great for them, but the rest of the park was again geared for an older crowd. Although we will definitely visit these parks again this year, we will not spend more than a day visiting them both. That way we can hit all of the attractions they can understand and take part in, and skip the others for another trip when they are older.
Overall, I found these parks to be excellent, albeit not so much for kids.
