Pros: Wonderful exhibits, terrific atmosphere!
Cons: Parking can be a challenge...take the trolley!
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Aquarium of the Americas for the entire family. It's a fun and memorable attraction to visit.

My family's visit to the Aquarium of the Americas was a memorable one. We all had a terrific time, and thoroughly enjoyed the "under the sea" atmosphere of the walk-thru (and under) aquarium. Note to parents: my son had purchased a balloon sculpture BEFORE entering the aquarium. Don't do this as they will have to "check it at the door" as they go in. The staff will hold it for you, but it was quite traumatic explaining this to our son. The albino alligator is certainly a highlight, as was the petting "zoo" portion of the tour. Our son was able to pet a shark, and this is something he still talks about today. It may seem a bit pricey for some, but I truly think it's worth the money. It was quite a fun and educational experience for our entire family. Remember to show your AAA card for discounts at the entrance, as every little bit of savings helps. The parking is certainly a challenge, but we learned that (if staying in New Orleans) foot power or the trolley is the only way to go. I've been to other aquariums, but this one takes the cake. Go and enjoy!
