Pros: Great new strollers to be rented.

Cons: The 'new' exhibits that were open looked un-maintained and in poor shape.

Maryland Zoo is in a sad state of affairs. Signs all over stating "exhibit closed for season" or "exhibit closed to improve for your safety". . The children’s zoo was almost non-existent. The exhibits that were open looked un-maintained and in poor shape. The polar bear exhibit was a big disappointment. One of the bears looked extremely distressed; the fur was all brown (I assume from mud/dirt) and saliva hanging from its mouth "like an overheated dog". The one elephant looked mal-nourished, with a "sway-back". No zebras to be seen, no hippos to name just a few. They have a long way to go before they should welcome visitors.
