| mburnham's Full Review: New Jersey State Aquarium |
The NJ State Aquarium was a fun day for my four children (ages 4 mos. to 7 years) this summer. Although we went on a weekday, it was just a bit crowded with summer camps attending. Despite that, I was able to keep up with my children as they were in awe with many of the exhibits and stayed put. The children loved the 750,000+ shark tank and enjoyed watching divers interact with the audience and sea life as well. The tank where the children we able to touch small sharks and other sea life was particularly entertaining to my little ones. In addition, when we were done inside, there was a children's garden for the kids to play in. The best part was the dancing fountains that helped cool off the kids - they got wet! There is a web site for this Aquarium which I would suggest one visits before going. The hours are listed (I believe the Aquarium closes around 5 or 5:30pm) and special closing days are posted on this site.
My family (with 4 children) purchased an annual pass for about $49. which will allow us to go anytime we want. This was a great feature and this pass got us discounts at other Zoos and Aquariums and a 10% discount in the store as well.
For the price, this was a good deal. I'd recommend it for anyone living close by. Not quite large enough for a long distance visit.
