...you got to visit the zoo for 4 hours while your co-workers only got to visit for an hour and a half? Kev...did you skip out on some important meetings?!
Great review!

until my son is a little bit older, and I can take him to a zoo! Roger Williams is a hop skip and a jump away from me which is nice!

Great Review (Reply to this comment)

What a great education you are giving your kids - they are learning things through you and your wife that they could never learn in a classroom, although these kind of life experiences enhance their class work. Wild life is great. I really enjoyed your review.\ Granniemose

to both last summer. I think little kids would like the zoo better because the animals are up close. But the park is amazing. The animals appear totally free:) jo

who would tell you that the Wild Animal Park is more enjoyable than the Zoo, primarily because zoos tend to really depress me. [Funny I should say that, since I'm a member of the Zoological Society of San Diego! They do such great conservation, education, and research work both at the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park that I would never want to discourage anyone from visiting either venue.] The gorillas, hippos and reptile house are for me definitely the very best the San Diego Zoo has to offer, so you did well with your limited time there. Next time, try the Wild Animal Park--the landscaping alone is worth a visit, and it's uplifting seeing the animals running over large tracts of land rather than cooped up in cages.

Great review! I want to go there!
Those Gorillas are amazing aren't they!? I went to a zoo where you could get up close to the gorillas as well. Makes you wonder what they are thinking!

Painted Ponies? (Reply to this comment)
by dragonlady_ct
Are you talking about those "zebras" on the corners, you know, with the cute names like Pedro, Tequila, Paco...that you can sit on and have your picture taken? I thought their stripes looked a little peculiar!
I knew it! Now I wish I had my picture taken! No one believes me here!

What in the world (Reply to this comment)

could be better than painted ponies in Tijuana???? We thought those were simply the pinnacle of human civilization --the only logical culmination of millenia of art, literature, and science. (Gee, maybe our standards aren't high enough.)
