Every year on our anniversary, my husband and I make a special trip to SeaWorld in Cleveland, Ohio. We have been going ever since we got married ten years ago. SeaWorld is a wonderful place to visit and learn about sea life. We enjoyed going when it was just the two of us and now with our two little girls.
SeaWorld adds new attractions every year. One year it was the Clydesdale horses and another year it was mechanical dinosaurs. It seems people like them so much that Sea World will bring them back again after a couple of years. In addition to the shows which include Shamu, the sea lions, canines with their feline friends and others. They also have wonderful exhibits. These exhibits portray the animals in their almost natural habitat. For example: Penguins, dolphins, fish, sharks, and quite an assortment of birds. They also have special guests like Jack Hanna or special events like "New Orleans Nights" which is a Mardi Gras theme event. There is also a giant jungle gym for kids and their brave parents. A real test of strength here if you dare.
If you are planning to spend a day at Sea world. Here are some helpful ideas.
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. You will be doing a lot of
walking and be prepared to get wet. Either sprayed or soaked.
- Bring a jacket if you will be visiting in May or October as the
evenings can get chilly here in Ohio.
- You can bring your own stroller. They have strollers and wagons
available for rent.
- You can also bring your own food and drink. (Some drinks and
foods can be pretty expensive if you have a large group.)
- Use a fanny pack as its much easier and safer then carrying a purse.
I also recommend that if you have never been to Sea World to get a brochure of the show times and info on the park ahead of time. As it takes a great deal of planning to get in all the shows and attractions.
Sea World costs $35.00 for adults, $27.00 for children. However 3 and under are free. This year the parking fee was $6.00. The park normally opens at 10:00am and usually close at 10:00pm. However the closing time varies during the opening season. They open in May and close in October. Throughout the entire park, there is something for everyone at all ages. There are wonderful shopping places for souvenirs and other gifts. Indoor/outdoor dining areas to accommodate your preferences. Easy access rest rooms and rest areas to relax. They have ATM machines and accept most major credit cards at the park. Believe me you will not leave the park feeling disappointed.
In conclusion, SeaWorld is a great park and I recommend it to anyone who loves to see and learn about sea life and for those who love to just have plain fun with family and friends.
