| samiracle's Full Review: Whistler-Blackcomb |
Blackcomb was everything one hopes for in a ski resort. We went in December with my husband and out two young girls and a babysitter. While we were there the weather was rather warm considering where we were.
As far as ski conditions, there was a variety of runs with a wide range of ski levels. The runs were well groomed and not too packed. There was virtually no ice on the runs and because of the huge area the ski area covers its was surprisingly not very crowded. The cost of lift passes was reasonable as were rental costs. And if or any reason one was bored with their runs Whistler is right down the road.
When my husband and I were done skiing, we took our girls out to play in the snow and to do some shopping. Although prices were a little high, it was a average deal for Americans with American money. We were happy with the variety of shops and the friendliness of the people that worked in them, always wanting to know where people were from and make small talk. The town had a general winter wonderland atmosphere.
The our eldest daughter had much fun in the snow and sledding with Daddy. It was a nice break from city life to take a deep breath of fresh mountain air. While our children may not remember this vacation we will remember with fond memories our first family vacation. We look forward to going back in the summer as we hear that their is equally a lot to do there then.
