Never having had a winter holiday before, my Partner and I headed to Whistler. The plan was simple, learn to board. We travelled in January 2000.
The resort is compact and the locals are very friendly–although quite a few hail from every corner of the world.
The tuition at the snowboard school was superb, after only a week of tuition we were able to gingerly get down a few of the Black runs, on the board and not on our bums. The extent and variety of the terrain is phenomenal, in a total of three weeks and two trips, we had only scratched the surface. (yes it was so good we went back again in the same season).

This resort offers just about everything that you can want. Especially POWDER–––and lots of it.During January we had powder days almost every other day. Bliss.
I would heartily recommend this resort to anyone who enjoys or who would like to enjoy boarding.
