| vankahn's Full Review: Northstar at Tahoe |
Northstar at Tahoe is a great family resort. The overall atmosphere is pretty low key - not a lot of pomp or circumstance. The lift operators and everyone who works at the mountain are incredibly friendly and helpful, making it a really easy and fun place to be. There is a good terrain park and half pipe for the snowboarders and bumps for the skiers. While there are a few key chairs that can be a little crowded, the back side has some good, long, steep runs. There are runs for everyone in the family. The down side to Northstar is that it isn't as big as some of the other resorts. After a week of being there, you feel like you have skied the entire place, twice. The traffic getting in can be murder, so it is best to stay on the mountain or in the village. Because it isn't that accessible, it isn't too crowded. Northstar is great for families with a diverse set of needs looking for a nice, low key hill. It isn't the best place for a bunch of single guys looking for a crazy weekend.
