For those of you who love skiing, as I do, sometimes you want to hit up a large and well known ski resort without the large crowds. Or maybe go skiing in a place where you have options other than the $10 hamburger and $7 fries. This place is Breckenridge, Colorado. Breckenridge's diverse town allows for all to find where you best fit in. Besides offering incredible skiing the lodging accomidations can be rather inexpensive if done right. There are many agencies such as AAA that offer cheap packages. For example, I used AAA and for $600 got my flight from Pennsylvania to Denver, shuttle service to Breckenridge from Denver, 4 nights stay in Breckenridge Village, and 4 days skiing. I know, it is an amazing deal but you have to be persistant because deals pop up all the time it is all about timing. Anyway, back to the town. Many of the accomidations offer a kitchen area which reduces cost a lot because there is a small grocery store by the village where you can get all of the fix-ins you need to make breakfast, lunch or dinner. I went around Christmas time and maybe I was just lucky but it seemed to me like I owned the mountain. During this time of year breckenridge is able to astonish visiters because its capabilities are able to handle large crowds so well that you are able to feel this impression that I had in feeling like you are a few select others own the mountain. So, the next time you are planning a trip think of breckenridge or at least check out their website.
