It is on the north side, so most of the trails are shaded throughout the day and hold their snow quite well. The only really sunny places are on top of the mountain or down at the Base Lodge, which is far enough from the base to not be caught in the shadow.

I have been enjoying it - not out as much as I want to - but enough - and it's still really early!

If I remember , most of Catamount is on the north side of the mountain. It doesn't get a lot of sun. You gave all the reasons for it being a good place to go.

I hope you are enjoying this season. Say hello to a good friend of mine who's worked on the slopes for many years. Paul E.
