| JENCER's Full Review: Ober Gatlinburg |
On the weekend of January 15-17, 2000, my boyfriend and I took a trip to Gatlinburg, TN for our one year anniversary. At first we were booked to stay at the Best Western Fabulous Chalet. We were excited at first about the hot tub and fire place in the room. But when we got to the room, we were more than disappointed. Not only did the room seem run down to be a "Fabulous Chalet" but one of the pipes had backed up and a horrible smell was in the room.
We called the front desk to come fix it. When we got back from walking around town, all they had done was spray air freshener in the room. So then it smelled rancid with powder fresh air freshener. We called the front desk again.
The ladies working came in and agreed that we could not stay in the room. The then wanted us to stay in a room with no hot tub and no fire place. Sure it's not a big deal, but we wanted this weekend to be special. The finally agreed to not charge us for the little time we were there.
We just so happened to find a beautiful chalet on Ski Mountain Rd. and it was even cheaper than the Best Western. Just in case you want to know....the name of the company for the chalet was Chalet Village. I highly recommend not staying at the Best Western Fabulous Chalet and going straight to Chalet Village on Ski Mountain Rd. It was great! Our chalet had everything we wanted plus more. Hot tub, fire place, TV, VCR, boom box, dishes, fridge, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.
Did I mention it was great. Our weekend turned out to be wonderful!!!!!....thanks to Best Western not being able to fix the pipe!!!!
