The best restaurants that I ate at while in Gatlinburg a few weeks ago was the Apple Barn, which isn't right in Gatlinburg, but in Sevierville, about 15 minutes away.
We ate there one morning for breakfast. I've never seen so much food in my life. We had everything with our meal, fried apples, grits, eggs, bacon, muffins, fritters, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, beverages,...the works.
I thought when we got there that an apple fritter was going to be like a "bear claw", I thought wrong. They are these little balls of batter with apples and deep fried. In a way, they taste like a cake doughnut, but with apples in them. They were great. In fact, we bought some of there fritter mix from the store they have by the restaurant.
I know that once I get another chance to go back to Gatlinburg, I will definitely eat at the Apple Barn again.
