There is No such thing as a free lunch (Reply to this comment)
by tinstafl
Terrid went to a "free" vacation and expected something world class for FREE. Not only do I vacation at Massanutten every year, I own a condo there. It is a world class resort but very expensive to buy into and it is sad when someone who can't afford to buy into a great project like Massanutten has to come home and trash the place. Here are a few facts. There are five pools, an 80 million dollar indoor outdoor water park, a ski lodge, five resturants, five different resort condo accomodations, 6000 acres, a private police force, art shows, concerts and live music year round, skiing, snow and grass tubing, two world class golf courses, two mini golf courses, art classes, kids classes, entertainment for all ages, two stores, two golf pro shops, a deli with pizza delivery and coming soon - go cart tracks. Now, tell me how there isn't much to do. You stayed for free and are upset because you can't afford to buy into the resort. It is a great place for families of all ages. Massanutten is a "Mass of Everything"!

... I thought you were talking about Massachusetts! (LOL)
Sounds like an "at least you had time together" kind of vacation.
Excellent review of a ho hum thing. Thank you!

We've stayed at several presentations and this is the first one where they not only put us up in substandard accomadations but their display model wasn't top of the line. I was shocked.

They never put you up in the place they are trying to sell. I know because I own several timeshares, and won't get caught out with below average accommodation.
