My title isn't meant to be degrading or hurtful, only informative. I've been to massanutten many times snowboarding. I'll admit the snowboard park is nice, and enjoyable to an extent. There are, however, those of us snowboarders who enjoy just freeriding down the slopes, finding our own places to trick and jump. Once again, Massanutten has that. They have two slopes, Diamond Jim and Paradice that have built in humps for those of us who like to catch a little air every now and then. The problem with this layout, is that the whole slope starts with the bunny hills. So if you are an advanced skier or snowboarder and don't want to mess around in the bunny hills, you still have to in order to get to the top. To paint a picture for you, my buddy and I preferred walking with our snowboards over our shoulders to the expert lift and we still made it before the bunny lift line had moved more than twenty feet. Other competing resorts don't have a problem with this, as you can skip directly to the expert slopes. When you have to wait upwards of an hour just to start boarding, thats a turn off for me. Once you finally get to the advanced slopes, you have a choice between four very similar slopes, all which try your patience. If you're looking for variety and personal enjoyment, I suggest you board somewhere else.

I've been to Massanutten, but in the Summertime, I got a Free vacation for taking a tour of the place; it was a Great Deal. They have really nice tennis courts, swimming pools, gyms & rec centers. I've never skied there but it sounds like a really fun place to ski too.
