| Mer29's Full Review: Tony N' Tina's Wedding |
New Years Eve...
There is always a question about what we are going to do. There are always house parties and nightclubs that we could attend, but this year we really wanted to do something different.
Friends of ours mentioned Tony n' Tina's Wedding. We had heard about it as it had been playing in the city for afew years, but had never seen it. The reviews on the play had been incredible and supposed to be very funny.
It was decided! That was what we were going to do on December 31st.
When we arrived, I felt like we were at an actual wedding. We hung up our coats and went directly to our table. There was a large head table set up and the room was full of guests.
As I sat down a very tall older man walked by and looked at me.
"Wonderful to see you again, but not too sure about this Nunzio character..."
Hmmm...I had then guessed that he was on the Vitale side. As it turned out, it was Uncle Luigi, Tina's Uncle and he was not a fan of the Nunzio family. At that point I had a feeling that this wedding would be like nothing I had ever been to before.
The ceremony itself was quite entertaining - from pregnant, hair-spraying, bubble gum chewing bridesmaids to the Father of the Groom's girlfriend tucking her large breasts into her low cut dress.
Shortly after the ceremony, the head table was introduced and the dance began. As I remember most weddings, dinner was always served before the dance, but this was no ordinary wedding!! The dance was highly entertaining and you had to keep your eyes moving all over the room as many things were occurring one after the other. I will not leak out what exactly happens, as I do not want to spoil it for those who have not seen it yet.
After a short period of time, we were then in the buffet line for dinner. The meal was quite good and we were pleased.

The rest of the night we ended up chatting with many from the wedding party as they mingled with their guests making sure that we were dancing and enjoying ourselves. Yes, our table ended up doing "YMCA" with the Aunt of the Bride.
Overall, it was a wonderful production!
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good laugh.
