I would not recommend ALAMO / NATIONAL to anyone. They are the most PREDATORY car rental recently. The rental agent was rude and pushy with their Insurance at 15.00 per day (more than car's rental). After refusing politely for 3 times proceeded to tell me my credit card does not cover it. Which is a lie. Finally, he practically threw the booklet at me and said go pick a car you are all set. Going to the Compact car section noticed dirty scratched up all over, some keyed Rios. As trying to pick from this sad lot, the attendant brought a nicer car which I took after a walk around looking for damage. No damage on the body.
When returning the car they rang up my receipt, you are all set. Waiting for the shuttle bus for about 5 minutes the same girl runs inside says you have to sign this for the damage. I went back out and missed the shuttle and she is pointing to the corner of the tail light where a 1/16th of an inch corner is chipped off. Too high to have been hit by anyone and too small for me to have even seen it. She made it impossible to leave that you have to sign before you can go. I signed that the tail light was as we received it. ON, AND ON, anyway 2 weeks later I get this VAGUE claim in the mail for UNDETERMINED damages. The rest is history, they are likely to rip off the Next Guy and the Next and so on for a tail light assembly that was probably damaged from the get go 'Manufacturer Defect'. They have done worse if I have picked one of the junkers where they would want me to pay for the whole paint job 2000.00. BEFORE YOU LEAVE THEIR LOT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK EVERY TIRE NOOK AND CRANY AND REPORT IT TO THEM. My insurance agent says they are the WORST with this BOGUS CLAIMS. I feel sorry for anyone using their 'Service'??
