MAJOR RIP-OFF. Awful customer service.

In February of 2000, my husband and I booked a trip to Florida through priceline.com. We also reserved a car through Budget. It was a GREAT DEAL, or so we thought. We had reservations for a Ford Ranger Pick-up Truck. Perfect for our 3-day weekend trip to see family. We didn't have a lot of luggage, so we weren't in need of a large vehicle. We were quoted a price of $79.99 for 3 days. When we arrived, we waited in line for 30 minutes. (There were 4 people in front of us... the problem was the person who waited on us. He didn't speak English well and was having a hard time.) After 10-15 minutes of getting the paperwork taken care of, we were sent off with a key. We were told the numbered parking spot where we would find the Ford Ranger. To our surprise there was a Dodge Durango sitting there. We went back downstairs and had to wait in line for another 30 minutes. It took another 10 minutes for him to correct the paperwork, to insure that we would be receiving the rate that we were promised when we had reserved a vehicle.
To make a long story short. We took the Durango because we were promised the same rate. He initialed our paperwork and said we would be paying the price that we reserved a Ford Ranger for. Upon returning the vehicle, we were told that we would be billed $250. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A 3 DAY RENTAL. We went to customer relations and told them what had happened. THEY told us there was NOTHING they could do about it. Two months later we received a voucher for $20 off our next rental with Budget Rent-A-Car.
Budget is not customer service friendly. When we were trying to explain our point, the manager (as noted on his name tag) wanted to ignore the problem and let the new employee (trainee as noted on his name tag) deal with it. Of course the new employee had no idea what to do and when he asked his manager, the manager seemed bothered although he wasn't doing anything. The manager was rude and said there is nothing he can do about it.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUDGET RENT-A-CAR.
