Enterprise. They pick you up! The also don't give you flack about being under 25 years old. Most rental car companies will not rent to you if you are under 25 years old, and the few who do charge you extra fees for being under 25 years old, sort of as a punishment or something. It is nonsense. Who cares about studies done by insurance companies. Business is business, and companies who restrict a section of their market are limiting their future customers.
Enterprise rented to me as a first step. This got me into their cars. They have good rates, and decent cars. I would recommend the Pontiac Sunfire if available at one of their locations. Its a cheap rental, but has decent class. Some of their cars are just down right cheap. Like the Metro...
I had a Metro rented from them first, and had a tire blowout pulling into a parking lot. Within 20 minutes, they had me in a new car, and took care of the old car for me. That's what I call service.
Just being in their office makes you know they care. They are constantly on their toes to take care of customers, even at the beginning when they answer the phone. Not only do they pick you up, but they will also give you a lift home when you are finished with their cars.
The only thing I regret is that they don't allow one way trips.
