Defintely NOT Gold Service

Pros: I can't think of even one.
Cons: Invoice did not list all charges; contract changed without notification; employees rude and dismissive.
The Bottom Line: I would never rent from this company. They do not stand behind their contracts and their employees are rude. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headache.

I have never been so disappointed and angry with service in my life.
We booked our car weeks in advance, through my husband's corporate Gold account. We were given a detailed invoice listing the charges and I checked to make sure that we had more than enough funds to cover them. We were purchasing multiple plane tickets and hotel rooms for my sister's wedding and traveling the day before payday, so I wanted to be sure we didn't get caught short.
We arrived at the rental agency via shuttle from the airport, with my sister and her 9-wk-old infant in tow. We were on a tight schedule and eager to meet up with the rest of our family. My husband attempted to pick up the car but they kept telling him our card was declined, which made no sense. I had specifically reserved funds for this rental. We tried multiple cards all with the same result. Finally, it occurred to us to ask how much they were authorizing it for. The answer: almost double what our invoice said! No wonder it wouldn't go through.
We offered to split it between two cards. They refused. We asked for location of an ATM. They haughtily told us they wouldn't accept cash (which wasn't our plan ... we simply wanted to consolidate our funds to cover the unexpected expense.) With each attempt we made to resolve the situation, they grew more rude and impatient. Their only response was that they could take us back to the airport. Totally fed up, we agreed, planning to find a different rental agency that was actually familiar with customer service.
We headed back out to the shuttle and asked the driver if she was headed back to the airport. She informed us no and specifically said that she did not go back there. Perplexed, I went back inside and was told we had to drag all our luggage to the return terminal across the lot and catch the shuttle there. No one offered to assist us, even though we were traveling with a small infant and several days' worth of luggage.
Shortly after we arrived at the return terminal, the exact same shuttle with the exact same driver arrived. Now she was going to the airport. Now she would let us on. Why we couldn't simply get on the shuttle when we were standing next to it I will never understand.
Even if I could get past the incorrect invoice (who doubles the charges without telling you?) I will never forgive the attitude we received from the attendants. Their rude, dismissive manner was completely uncalled for. You can be assured, Hertz will not see any business from us in the future.
Oh, and we did get a very nice vehicle from a different company for considerably less with excellent service. I won't mention them by name in this review, but I will say Hertz could take a lesson from them on how to deal with customers!
