Cons:Serious delay, despite large deposit, misinformation.
The Bottom Line: i won't use them because of delay after paying so much.
I booked a Mercedes for a driving holiday. The booking was made by internet, 65 days in advance, and I pre-paid GBP 1,191 to secure it. The car was booked for 1800 hours on 27 June 2011 at Gare du Nord, Paris. We had a dinner engagement with friends in Troyes that evening. At 1800, the Hertz staff told us that the car was coming from their office in Parc des Princes and that the traffic was heavy. We were told that we would have to wait up to one hour. We asked for more information, but we were told that they did not have a mobile phone number for the driver, so they could not contact him. At 1900, we asked again. We were told that the car would arrive very soon. At 1930, we asked when the car had left Parc des Princes. When we pressed for an answer, we were told that it had left only at 1900, one hour after the time of our reservation. There was never a chance that it would be at Gare du Nord at 1800, or even close to that time. We were eventually given the key at 2000. We missed the dinner with our friends. We had been forced to sit in Hertz's office for two hours.
