| jetbluefan1's Full Review: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith |
When I saw the line for Rock n Roller Coaster at MGM Studios (Disney park located in Orlando), I almost fainted! From what I could see, there were about four snake lines packed to the extreme, next to a huge, red, guitar. On the bottom of the huge, red, guitar, I saw the word Aerosmith.
After waiting in the four snake lines divided by silver railing, we entered the building through a door made of colorful marbles. We then waited for about five minutes in a very small room filled with Aerosmith pictures in frames. Then we entered a small room that could fit about 50. The lights lowered, and we saw another small room in front of us separated from our room be glass! The room had a red and orange lava lamp next to a keyboard, and a set of drums along with a desk. This is what we would call a studio. However, this wasnt just another ordinary studio. Oh, no sirry! It was the studio that Aerosmith practiced in!
We then saw a screen light up on the back wall of the studio, on the other side of the glass. That is where the band showed up and told us that we would go to a live concert that they (Aerosmith) would be hosting! Then the manager of Aerosmith encounters a problem. How were they to bring all 50 of us, to their concert, in their small, white, limo? Not a problem! We would take the Rock n Roller Coaster!
The five minute show then ended as we exited to a door on our left. When entering the next room, we saw blue limos with open roofs, getting passengers loaded. Not to mention, a line of about 70 people were also in view! Not to worry, the limos/ roller coasters seated about 20 people at a time, and there were MANY of them! We then boarded the coaster after a short five minute wait, and a harness came over our head and shoulders. The coaster started moving! We then came to a stoplight, our tires screeched, and we were off into the darkness!
Up a hill we went 70 MPH! Rock and roll started to play. Why rock and roll? Look at the name of the roller coaster! The music was playing so loud in your ears from two speakers in your headrest. Why so loud? Well, how are you supposed to hear it over all the screaming? Yes, that will be you, and your fellow ride go-ers screaming. And yes, the passengers in the other limos will be screaming.
So now you have the music and the speed. Whats missing? Oh! The actual motions and visuals! When soaring at 70 MPH, you will be going through twists, sharp turns, spirals, loops, upside down twists, upside down turns, upside down spirals, and upside down loops. You will see lighted up signs that you would see on the road such as: yield, stop, one-way, 55 MPH. This actually makes you feel as if you are going to the Aerosmith concert in your blue limo. And yes, the music still plays!
So now you are wondering the duration of the amazing ride. Good question! The actual duration is about one minute. Yes, it seems short, but MGM and Disney make it worth it! The story, the ride, the music. The theme has come to life!
When you finally get off after filled with life, you will exit into the hot sun of Orlando, Florida (if it is not cloudy). The huge, red, guitar, with the word Aerosmith, is still there! Boy, doesnt that bring back memories? Do you want to go again? Sure!
So that is the story of just another person, trying the Rock n Roller Coaster!
The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is very well designed for adrenaline junkies. Since it is exciting, and very fast with many turns, it will probably be most enjoyed by them. Pre-teens might also enjoy this ride very much. Pre-teens that love adventures and do not mind going at rapid speeds with turns and twists in the darkness. Younger children might find it to be scary, and are not allowed to ride. Also, older people, or people with heart problems can get seriously hurt as there is a part where you suddenly jolt into the darkness at the beginning of the ride. However, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster has made it through all safety procedures, and I find it to be very safe because of the harness resting on your shoulders, while being the most exciting ride ever!
So, as I said, do you want to go again?
