| mykidsand_i's Full Review: Walt Disney World Epcot - Germany |
We entered th Biergarten at the perfect time of day! We read several articles before going here that told us "how to get the best" out of our Biergarten visit. We were told to show up approx. 15 to 20 minutes before their show was scheduled to start. So we did. We made reservations and we showed up a bit early for them and got seated right away.
When arriving in the Germany area of Epcot, you truely feel as if you're in Germany! Walking to the restaurant, we get in and there is a person standing at a booth who brought my husband and I back to our traveling days when we went to Germany. This was a lady who had a plesant, very nice accent. She was welcoming and we felt as our experiance had just begun. She told us that they would seat us with in 10 minutes, and it ended up being less than 5. The outfits that the servers, hostess and people working there were wearing were all true to the German culture. They were beautifully made outfits and my girls (who are 4 and 6) got a very good "lesson" about the fact that people in other countries wear different things, and they LOVED it!
When we walked in to the restaurant, we noticed how beautiful it was. It was like walking into a nicely decorated German village. The floors were all wood, there were faux store fronts and then we saw the large stage. Much to our delight the person seating us put us in the FRONT ROW!!!! Right in front of the dance floor and stage! We were in the middle of it all and we were so happy with our seats! The tables are large and we had a family of four. There were 8 seats at our table. Soon after we sat down, there was another older couple that were seated on the other side of our table. Our drink orders were taken...my husband ordered the large beer mug- which was worth the trip there alone. This mug was the size of his head! The beer that filled it was very good as well! My girls both had a pop in a kids cup and I had the "wine flight". the wine flight included 4 glasses of wine that were from Germany. They had them lined up and it said when to drink them, with what part of your meal. There was an "appitizer wine", "meal wine", and I chose the "dessert wines" for two of my wines, because I LOVE SWEET, lightly flavored wines.
The food here is set up as buffet. I have NOTHING bad to say about it! I started off in the fresh salad bar area, and went directly to the main courses after that! There was every kind of German sausage immaginable, Schnitzels, Frikadellens, rotissery chickens, and there was even a guy there slicing and plating meats there. The meats were wonderful! The sides were really good too!!! My 6 year old daughter LOOOOVVVVVEEEEDD the leek and potato soup! She couldn't get enough of it! We all loved the pretzel bread! It was extremely yummy. We were AMAZED at the desserts! This was the highlight of our desserts at Disney! There is an Apple Strudle there with a glaze/sauce that goes on top that is to die for! This was the best dessert ever! There was also a VERY YUMMY berry compote!
When we were just starting our desserts, the show started! Perfect timming. It was a very good show. There were 4 men on stage in the Beautiful German outfits that played tons of different types of instruments- even the saw! They were singing, jumping around and we were so into it, that all of us finished our desserts and went out to dance. My girls really enjoyed themselves! After we were done dancing, there was a guy that rolled out a "table of bells" he procceded to play the bells- he is the fastest bell player in the world and did a great job. Then, my girls noticed that they were getting out the big, long horns. My 6 year old had a flashback to the "reeee-Kooo-Laaa" commercial (as she called it). And the men on stage played the horns. These horns were HUGE!!! we will go back to this place every time we visit Disney!
