| disneyman's Full Review: Walt Disney World Epcot - Japan |
I am a big fan of World Showcase! I find it quite fun and educational. One of my favorite countries in World Showcase is this one, Japan. Japan is mostly made up of four "things": Two eating complexes, a huge store, and an exibition area. First with the places to eat! Japan, unlike the other countires, has three table service places with two being over the huge store and one right across on the same level. The two eateries above are right next to each other, but one is a Teppan grill and the other one is more into sushi. Now. I am not a big fan of sushi, but I am of Teppen grill (the one they cook on the table). That place is very similar to Benehana's which is just down the street, but is a little more authentic. If you like Benehana's, you would probably love this place, but I have noticed that it does not have the same combos that Benehana's have, but still has the same general food. Beneath this is the "famous" Japaneese department store (which actually I think is real in Japan). This has to be the biggest store in any country of World showcase. This store has everything Japaneese from very cheap chopsticks and very expensive kimodos. In other words, you can find whatever you want in this store. I love it. Right next to the store near the back of the pavillion is the exibition all which right now, I believe, has a Tin Toy exibit. I found it quick and a little interesting. As with entertainment, they have drummers who play drums on the pagoda. Also, they used to have a lady who fasioned rice candy into any animal you want. I remember seeing her go from her little stand that she rolled out to having a real booth with its own fans and she had a microphone. However, she is gone now, but there is a mysterious woman with her golden fan who gives you a quick tour of the pavillion and tells you a story about the Japaneese gods while dancing with a fan. I find it very facinating. Also, right before her is a Samurai who rides on a horse! Very cool! Finally, and nobody seems to notice this, the cast members of this country is some of the nicest in World Showcase. Some countries have some very snooty cast members such as France and Italy. This country has a welcoming and serving nature to them. Perhaps it is the countries views on tourism since Japan seems to be intersested, I really don;t know! I do know that I have always felt welcome by the Japaneese cast memebrs in Japan and they were very helpful to me and my family. If anybody is intersted in Japan or the Japaneese Culture, come to thiis pavillion which I think is the best!
