Why the slowest ride is my favorite at Disney

Pros: Great opportunity to take pictures; alone time; short line; good break from hot sun
Cons: Not terribly exciting! Kids could get bored easily (better adult ride)
The Bottom Line: The Tommorland Transit Authority is one Disney ride you don't want to miss. Even if you love more typical "rides" there is plenty of excitment potential on the TTA.

Ok I'll admit it right from the start, Disney World's Tommorowland Transit Authority is the slowest ride in the park. Others might also consider it the most boring - for you are basically sitting in a slooooooow moving train that circles above the perimeter of the park. Yet, like everything at Disney World, Tommorowland's Transit Authority is all what you make of it. It is definately my favorite ride at Dinsey World and these are the reasons why:
1. You will not get motion sickness!
I am one of those people that - even at the young and active age of 25 - cannot handle roller coasters, log flumes, spinning tea cups, or any other ride that makes my stomach do flips. The Tommorowland Transit Authority (which I will now refer to as the TTA) WILL NOT - I repeat - WILL NOT make even the most pregnant, or height phobic, or roller coaster hater, nauseous. This ride is extremely slow, stable, and predictable. There are no sudden turns, no steep drops (no drops at all as a matter of fact) and no spinning, speed, or splashes.
2. You will not get a sunburn waiting in line!
Line? What line? Of the three times I have visited Disney World I have never had to wait in line at the TTA. It is the most under-rated ride in Disney World. You also will not get sunburn while riding the ride because the ride itself (which is about 15 minutes) is all indoors or under canopies. It is a wonderful break from the sun - especially in the summer months.
3. Say cheese!
No, I don't mean the ride itself is cheesy. In a way it is -afterall there is not much to it and it has not been modernized in the fifteen years that I have been going to Disney World. I said "Say cheese" because you can get some great photographs and video footage on this ride. It goes so slow that there is no chance you will miss being able to shoot Cinderella's Castle (or have it come out blurry from speed). You can also get unobstructed views of certain areas of the park.
4. A great place to be alone with the one you love
When my fiance and I visited Disney World this summer we rode this ride several times! Not only to escape the crowds and heat, but just to have quiet time where we could sit alone, in the coolness, and talk. Also there are times when the ride goes through extended dark tunnels which can be very fun ;) Especially since we were usually the only people on the ride.
So, there is my take on the TTA. It is definately a ride you don't want to miss. Even if you are someone who loves the excitement of the other more typical "rides" (like Space Mountain) there is plenty of excitment potential on the TTA.
