Visiting tomorrow land is like going back in time? Well I wouldn’t go that far, but I guess it could come close. Although if your idea of tomorrow is shooting almost getting eaten by aliens than your in for a treat.
Tomorrow is located in Disney world, Orlando Florida in the magically place the magic kingdom. It is one of the many different worlds that surround the castle. If you are facing the castle from Main Street tomorrow land is to you exactly right. Tomorrow land has been redone for sometime now.. But if you haven’t been back in I’d say 4 years than it will look new, but not to worry some of the same rides are still there.
Tomorrow land in my opinion has the most adult/ action rides in the park. Here is a review of the majority of the rides located in tomorrow land.
Tomorrow land is based on what Disney thinks our future will be like, so all the rides are somewhat based around our future and space.
The rides:
Alien encounter- scared people may not apply. This ride is extremely scary especially if you don’t like to think about aliens, because it puts you up close .. You get right in the action and I mean it. I do not want to spoil the surprise for you but I will give you some details. You sent away into the future and witness the first cross space travel … the space travel transmits cell by cell people from one place to another ( kind of like star trek). Expect something goes wrong.. I’ll leave it from there. You enter a big room with seats surrounding the big transmitter, when you sit down a safety bar comes down and makes sure you can’t standup and try to run away.. Yes it’s that scary that you feel the need to run away. So be warned! The effects are very real!!! It a must see if you aren’t to scared.
Buzzlight years ride- I dragged by boyfriend on this ride last time we were there, I think we were the oldest people on it without kids sitting next to us. This ride an interactive kind. You sit in a car with laser guns on it and try to shoot as many bad guys as possible. Your score ends added up in the end. That’s basically the ride, it’s more for the younger 6-12 age group. There were no graphics or movies; just kind of cardboard looking things you have shoot at in the dark. It was too much of a wait for the little enjoyment I got out of it. In fact I was pretty certain that my gun didn’t work right and it was just added up fiction al points to make me feel good. Only ride this one if you have small kids or if there is no wait.
Asteroid rider – (I think that’s what it is called) these are the flying ships in the sky. I had never been on this ride before since the last time I went. It was only a long line. So this time I decided to wait out the line and take a chance. Well it had its good and bad moments. Once you get up to the top you don’t realize exactly how high and fast the ships go and exactly how small the platform on top is. When I boarded the ship I was fine but as soon as it started moving I freaked out. It went really fast and I defiantly felt like I was going to fall out, even by boyfriend who isn’t afraid of heights felt the same. One plus to this ride was that it was a great view of the park. If your afraid of heights, Don’t ride!!
The Indy Raceway- this is one of the older rides. It like go carts for kids. The cars are all on a track and the kids have the ability to steer, go and brake. It’s not the most amusing ride, but I remember when I was a kid that I found it very exciting. This ride always has a long line, I think because it’s one of the older rides they haven’t re-done yet. The cars I think car hold up to 4- 2 people, depending on what car you take.
Space Mountain- I have been to Disney world 4 times. Not since this summer did I go on. I was always afraid that it would be too scary. I was talked on to going this year and also because there was not any line. The ride had broken down because a part fell off and they were waiting for it to be made. Now after hearing this I was even more frightened to go on. To my surprise it turned out to not be that bad. Space Mountain is a roller coaster in a giant dome spaced futuristic building. You sit in a car with 4 or 2 people I can’t remember I think its 4. It’s in the dark and its supposed to be like your traveling in time and in space. After I rode I didn’t find it scary at all. Yeah it went a little fast but it wasn’t scary, I was more scared that it was going to fall apart while I was on. You should give it a try, even if you don’t like roller coasters.
I did not go on the carousels of progress, it was broken down. All it is a is a rotating room that shows you how far we have come along.
A few tips – get fast past for the rides you want to ride. Get a fast pass as soon as you get to the park; tomorrow land is the closet to Main Street so I think in the beginning of the day it is the busiest because most people go there first. Try getting your fast pass than returning at a later part of he day. There is cool off station in the back of tomorrow land … it lets out midst, very refreshing.
So I hope this info helps you when deciding what to do in Disney’s the magic kingdom. Have a great time and say hi to Mickey for me!! =)
