| KMINER's Full Review: "ulta Nail Lacquer" - (4) Full Sized Bottles |
I'm always keeping my eye out for new cosmetics. Hair, body, nail, face ... if it's a product, it peaks my interest. I'm not too picky about my nails overall though, and working with small children often I leave my hands free of polish. Toe nails though ... that's a whole different story!
I've always been told by friends, etc, that if you want to buy polish you should buy "the best". So I've always stuck with brands like OPI that come highly recommended and last.
Last summer I was getting a pedicure and fell in love with a color they had there ... but it was a limited color from a special company, and I'd have to order it overseas just to have a chance! No way. Still, I kept the color in my mind. Later that summer my best friend and I were shopping out of town and decided to buy some things at the Ulta store. Ulta is a wonderful cosmetics, hair, fragrance and more store that caters to lower and higher end products ... and there are a lot of things I always want there. As I was walking around the OPI nail polish section I noticed nearby was Ulta's own brand of polish - called Ulta Nail Lacquer. Ulta Beauty products have always interested me, and this seemed like the perfcet time to try! They were having a buy one get one free sale, which meant I could pick up 2 polishes for $5.00!
Beyond the price, what really swayed me were the colors. There was such a wide variety, and I got an idea. My friend and I carried a few of the OPI colors we were looking at over to the Ulta polish section and found to our delight almost exact color matches! It just seemed like we had to try this ... and then I found it! I found a shade just like the shade I had been drooling over ... it looked exactly like what I had seen at the salon.
I came home with 2 Ulta Nail Lacquers - their Shimmer Finish in Ruby Slippers and a newer shade called Cabana Pink. These nail lacquers come in a variety of shades, and some have a more matte finish, some come with shimmer, some with glitter, and so forth. Ulta states that these nail lacquers are "a quick-drying, chip-resistant lacquer that is formaldehyde-free and toluene-free." I really appreciate that they are "free" of unneeded things, and they really have proven to be quick drying for me.
The Ulta Nail Lacquers come in a short and square glass bottle with the brush built into the top. They really are similar to most of the nail paints you might see on the current market. They are easy to use and the brush is really durable and paints well. The colors are true to the bottle and not "gloopy". I've had my polishes for a year now and they both are still performing great. They are not thin, and to me perform just like more expensive polishes. It takes 2 coats to get the color that I need.
I've really notice they are pretty quick drying, and I just the formula enough to paint my 3 1/2 year old daughter's toes - who now wants toes just like Mommy! I've found this stuff to last well on my toes and be a nice, vibrant color. The product comes off well with nail polish remover as well. Honestly, I cannot see myself going back to the higher priced nail polishes again. Ulta Nail Lacquers have really proven to be to be a great quality nail product at an excellent price!
