Pros: Clean, friendly staff, lots of locations, price
Cons: pushy sales people
The Bottom Line: I would recommend 24 hour fitness to anyone. Besides the fact that they are equipped with anything you could need to get fit they have lots of convenient locations.

| txbreeze01's Full Review: 24 Hour Fitness |
I joined 24 hour fitness 7 months ago because I had hit a plateau in my weight loss. I had already lost 30 lbs and still had 30 to go. I knew I needed to step it up to the next level so the obvious choice for me was 24 hour fitness.
Signing Up
I called to ask for prices and they directed me to a "fitness counselor" who worked hard to get me to agree to come in and see him. I got there and all the employees seemed very nice. I checked my children in at the day care and proceeded to go get the car salesman treatment. My fitness counselor pulled out charts, graphs, and anything else to show me all the different types of plans I could get. I ultimately chose the single club, pay monthly plan for $25 per month. As soon as I signed on the dotted line he made an appointment for my free fitness assessment. Little did I know this was a ploy to get you to talk to one of the trainers who also pulled out all kinds of charts and graphs. The showed me how "unacceptable" I currently was according the charts. I told them that I wanted some time to go it on my own, to see what I could do, before paying all this money. It took some convincing for them to see I was serious but they finally got it.
Club Type: Sport
I love my club. I love the way it is set up, I love the equipment they have, I love that when I go at 9:30am it is not busy. It is always clean. I have been in the evening only a handful of times and that's the only time I have trouble getting on a machine. My clubs has a lap pool, sauna, kids club, cardio section, free weight section, weight machine section, and locker rooms. Everything you need. I am interested in classes but they don't seem to have one that interests me. Most of the classes are more boot camp, muscle building type classes. What happen to simple aerobics?
Kids Club
My kids love it. It always seems clean and there is plenty to keep them busy. They will watch the kiddo's for up to 2 hours a day Monday-Saturday. It's all part of your monthly fees. They don't change diapers so if your little one needs to be changed they do call you in. I have only had issue with 1 staff member who seemed to want to call me in for everything my 3 year old did. I finally spoke to the person in charge in the room and he said he would look into it and I haven't had problems since. The staff all know my children's names now and take good care of them while they are there.
Trainers
Ok, I'll admit it. I finally got a trainer. I have been working with her for 7 weeks now and I am down a size. She is really helping me push myself to places I didn't know I could go. They have different levels of training. I chose 1/2 solutions which is 30 minute training sessions. I paid $330 for 10. I see her twice a week. I actually just resigned with her last week. I don't know how they get paid but I guarantee that they get commission. About 2 weeks before the end of my last contract with her she suddenly started the car salesman routine with me again. I don't like how pushy they get with it. If you're signed they are your best friends, but if youre not a client it is hard to get them to answer a question. I will say I am pleased with my results so far.
My Opinion
The best time to go is either between 9am-Noon or 1pm - 5pm. Any other time and it is packed. In the evening there are more teenagers and young college students. They are the ones that will walk slow and talk the whole time!
