Pros: good equipment, variety of classes
Cons: problems with contracts, more of a socializing affair than working out, sometimes poor trainers
The Bottom Line: Do research before you sign any contracts.

Around my area theres a Balleys 20 min. away. So for a year. The place for the first few months was decent. Variety in equipment, classes to attend, and adequet trainers and staff to answer your questions. Their was a fuss with my contract. When I decided to quit, they were trying to bait me in and us this goofy tactics to keep me a member. Finally I quit however, they still send me stuff in the mail asking me to come back. Well, thats how people advertise and lure you back, for me, I'm done. The staff was picky, it seemed on majority of days you didn't work out but talk and socialize a lot. It also depends which Balleys you go to. I got stuck with one that had an average staff and the equipment on time to time was not in use and felt like people were watching you like a hawk. However, I have a friend who went to another Balleys and he loves it their. Before you join a gym its like choosing a college to attend, do some research and actually talk to some people or friends who attend there.
