Teenagers are NOT adults and therefore don't have adult rights under the law. They also don't have adult contract liabilities, that is you can't entice a teen to enter into an contract and then sue them when they can't live up to it. The law protects their inability to have a meeting of the minds when entering into a business agreement. I did not know this so complied with Bally's when they said they were suing me when I was a teenager. When I was a teenager, I was walking through the Smith Haven Mall on Long Island, and a hunk of a guy in maybe his early 20's the most! was standing in front of Bally's and approached me as I walked by. He asked if he could talk to me. Flattered that his hunk wanted to talk to "me" I said of course. He made like he was really interested in talking to me personally. Before you knew it, we were in an office in the back talking about me signing up for a membership at Bally's. The cost I remember was going to be about $1300. I only had just a tad over that in the bank, my life savings. I was so taken with this guy. In my teenage youth, I thought I had a new boyfriend on my hands as that was how he came across. He convinced me to sign up for the club. I a minor yet signed a contract to join. I came back the next day with several hundred dollars of my own money as a down payment. I did not tell my parents. This was not going to fly at home but since I had this new "boyfriend", I could not lose this opportunity! When I went my first day on the club, a fitness instructor (so called) showed me around and said she expected to see me there all the time and if I did not come and she did not see me, she was going to call me at home and find out where I was. I really felt this was a neat place and the people cared. From the hunk out front to this nice lady. I worked part time to make gas money but that was it as I was still in high school. The payments were $60 something dollars a month. Soon I could not make them and stopped but I made them for a long t
