Pros: -Large crowds of people to share the gym with.
-Good excersice equipment.
Cons: -Hidden costs of contract
-Unethical sales methods. I.E. deceitful sales pitches.
The Bottom Line: If you dont stay away from this gym based on my review - Read some of the other reviews and then goto the BBB website. (Better business buereau).

| mike31785's Full Review: Gold's Gym |
Six months ago, two friends and I decided to join the nearby Gold's gym. We all signed up and enjoyed our membership. That was until we decided to switch our membership to a discounted rate through our school.
I get a phone call saying, "I couldnt switch my membership because I guess I signed up for a full year?"
I thought about how I would feel if I signed up for a full year. Maybe my friend would get tricked into this but I wouldnt fall for it.
Sure enough, come the time to change my membership and I find I am under contract for a full year. Now, all three of us had signed up for a full years membership - unkowingly! The first thing I have to say about this is how does this happen to three people out of three people to do this. I will give you two possible explanations.
A) Either the three of us are retarded
B) The salesmen were less then honest about what we were signing up for.
Nedless to say, I had a chat with several people from the facility. None of which gave me any hope of a good future with this gym.
I later find out, while venting on my buddys, that another person I know has had this happen to them.
Golds gym made it perfectly clear that I had signed a contract.
I want to make it clear that I personally sign documents without reading through them. When I go go-cart racing and sign the liability waiver I do no expect to be signing up for a years worth of go-cart racing. I mean to say, I have good faith in the corporation to behave ethically. Or in other words, I believe that in relatively small transactions, ( $30/month 12/months), I should not have to read through the documentation thoroughly. Obviously, I learned my lesson.
So in conclusion.
-I bought something that I didnt intend to
-When presenting my problem the customer service was horrible, (Managers would not call me when they told me they would).
-This has happened to other people.
Also, I have no problem with signing contracts. I bought a cell phone under a 2 year contract and got exactly what I expected. A cell phone with a 2 year contract.
