| need2succeed's Full Review: Atkins Diet |
I tried Atkins and quickly found out that I was a compulsive overeater. I started Atkins at 155 and when down to 145 in two weeks. The problem is, that diet started me on a yo-yo rollercoaster that has consumed me for the past 4 years. I recently got up to my highest weight ever--210. I know for a fact that if it were not for Atkins, I would have NEVER become that big.
Atkins is risky if you are a compulsive overeater or food addict because you will begin to crave carbs that you didn't think that much about before.
What do I recommend instead?
More moderate low carb programs like The Scarsdale Medical Diet. That program is excellent and you still get to eat a great deal of fruits, brown rice, etc.
If you need to lose a large amount of weight ASAP, I highly recommend Medifast. It has turned out to be a life saver (I've already lost 45 pounds and am now down to 165). Remember folks, its ALL ABOUT MAINTENANCE. I've come to accept that this time around, and vow to NEVER let my weight get out of control again.
Good luck all.
