Atkins is Starvation (Reply to this comment)
by af40
Atkins is pretty much just like starvation. You still eat, so that is the big difference, but you eat none of the sugars, especially not early on. You'd think that if the body were to work best in a fatty diet we'd have evolved to that point by now.

I have no clue where some of the people posting so-called 'reviews' on this stie get their info. I have a hunch a lot of them are just doing it for a buck.

Explanation of the hypoglycemia... (Reply to this comment)
by kurticu
If you are wondering why your blood sugar level is low, read my review posted on October 29th, 2003. It explains the science behind the low blood sugar level.

Also, Atkins says to increase your carbs level until the symptoms disappear. But just because the symptoms disappear or aren't noticeable doesn't mean the diet isn't still causing an unhealthily low level of sugar.

If you lose more that 1.5 pounds a day you will fill sick. Then you need to add more carbs.

Something to think about (Reply to this comment)

In Dr. Atkins book, the section about the induction diet, he specifically states that if you're having that kind of trouble you simply need to increase your carbohydrate intake until you don't have the problem anymore.
