I recently took a challenge for myself to enter a bodybuilding competition. The diet I used was similar to the Atkins diet. I did this about 10 weeks and lost 30 pounds. I kept my Carbohydrate level below 50 grams a day. I ate 180 grams of protein a day, drank 2 gallons of water a day, and finally ate six to seven times a day. I took a multivitamin, Vitamin C, and a fat burner.
Some of the foods I would eat included, meats, eggs, fish, and some dairy. Some of the foods I stayed away from were pastas, rice, junk food, and anything with sugar in it.
The diet does work extremely well, but is not the most healthy, and also it gives you mood swings, and a feeling of no energy.
