| kzandy's Full Review: Eat Right 4 Your Type Diet |
Ok, first off, I have to say that I think the other reviews were too negative. True, this is a "fad diet," so don't expect the same success as you'd get if you suddenly started eating healthy and excercising. However, the theory behind this diet is pretty interesting, and I couldn't really argue with the base of it.
As a blood type "A", I am supposed to avoid meats and most dairy products, and concentrate on eating fruits, vegetables and grains. The theory behind the diet is that it's easy to follow, because your body naturally desires the foods that are right for your blood type - so, you probably won't have to change your diet drastically. This was certainly true for me - I was already a vegetarian, in fact.
So, to give it a half-shot, I decided to stick to the "beneficial" foods for a week or two. For those of you who don't know, the diet separates foods into "beneficial" "neutral" and "non-beneficial" for each blood type. I didn't notice any drastic weight loss or anything, but my diet wasn't really all that different from what I normally ate. I'm very small to begin with, and I definitely didn't gain an ounce while following this diet.
So here's my advice: Look over the diet's foods. Don't buy the book - leaf through it in a bookstore somewhere. Don't buy the special products, the blood type bars. But if you find that the diet suits what you naturally eat, take a few food suggestions out of the book - consider going full out vegetarian or vegan, and adding fruits and vegatables to your diet, if you're an A, for instance. Overall, I guess that just boils down to the same advice you're going to get from any diet. Good luck!
