| cherison's Full Review: Eat Right 4 Your Type Diet |
First, let me point out that DIET is a truly misunderstood word. Diet does not mean weight loss. Do you really believe that is why hospitals and or nursing homes, etc. employ Dietitians - to make all their patients or residents lose weight. I don't think so.
A dietitian is a person qualified in the science of applying the principles of proper and healthy nutrition. It is my opinion that before one can give an honest opinion of the "Eat Right 4 Your Type", one must understand the definition of the word Diet. Diet according to Webster's Collegiate Dictionary is "food and drink regularly provided and consumed". Nowhere does it indicate diet is only losing weight.
With that having been said, I have been in the nutritional health business for the past 5 years. Approximately three years ago I purchased Dr. Adamo's book and have since used it in many of my seminars on good, proper health. I personally followed the recommended foods for my blood type and had a complete and positive turn around not only in my eating habits but in my overall health. My sole initial purpose in following the recommendation listed in the book was to improve my overall health and well-being.
I believe that good health and well-being should be your priority. Weight loss should be the added bonus for attaining health and well-being. Understanding the meaning of Diet is half the battle. Diet doesn't have to be just carrot sticks, apples, fish, chicken and no red meat. Proper dieting also doesn't have to be a chore or drudgery.
I highly recommend following the principles and guidelines indicated and illustrated throughout the book. You will find that the true "Diet" is one you can use throughout the remainder of your life. I do not believe there are any health risks involved when following a proper diet program.
Keep in mind that common sense also plays a major role in nutrition. So by following specific recommendations in a diet program such as this one, you may have to make minor adjustments. If you know that there is a food source to which you may react negatively, by all means do not consume it just because it is recommended for your blood type.
My overall opinion is follow the recommendations using common sense. The worse case scenerio, I forsee, is you will gain good health.
