| timefly94's Full Review: Fit For Life Diet |
**NOTE**
I'm not sure of the English title, but the diet is from the Frenchman Michel Montignac. Sorry if there is any confusion regarding the name. Type in his name at Amazon.com and you will find the correct title of the diet I'm referring to.
I tried this diet over a year and a half ago and am VERY happy with the results.
I started with a weight of 78Kilos, colesterol level of over 240 and moderately high blood pressure.
I lost the first 10 lbs on my own through not eating anything after 6pm. Well, you can only maintain that for so long. I knew I had to switch to something else...more of a lifestyle change or I would gain everything back again.
A collegue at work was raving about this new diet from Michael Montignac. "I don't starve! I am never hungry!" Well, that sounded cool. So I looked into it.
I ordered the book through Amazon.de (I'm in Germany..and the book is called here, "Essen und Dabei Abnehmen")
It is written perhaps a little drier than most diet books but therefore very informative. Read the book and dont just look for the recipes. You need to know WHY it works.
I started the diet and three months later I had lost an additional 20lbs (I was down to 62kilos) and the best part;
my colesterol level sank to 185 and my blood pressure to 110/70. Wow. I was hooked...and felt GREAT...and the best part, I was eating like a bear. I never felt hungry.
After those first 3 months (which you really should be strict in) I would eat what I wanted on the weekends and go back to the plan during the week.
It is a year and a half later and I STILL keep the weight off.
I must admit that it was a little difficult at first since I love sugary sweets...and that is a big no no with this diet.
The discomfort diminishes after about 2 weeks though...and you will be amazed. After a while, you wont even miss sugar. I didnt think it was possible but it happened. I had no cravings...no attacks...simply nothing.
Like the reviewer before me said..there are a few easy rules to follow (yeah, it looks and sounds difficult, but really isnt once you get the hang of it)
The No No's (read the book to understand fully why)
No sugar.
No cooked potatoes
No bananas.
No cooked carrots.
No white flour.
No corn.
Watch your combinations
no meat or cheese with breads, pastas or rice.
exception: FISH! You can eat fish with those things.
Here is an example day for me:
Breakfast
A glass of orange juice (drink 15 mins before eating)
A mushroom and cheese omelet with 2 slices of bacon.
Coffee with skim milk and sweetener
Lunch
Broiled chicken breast
huge garden salad (tomatoes, carrots, cheese, peppers)
olive oil and balsamico
glass of beer (I'm in Germany...we do that!)
Dinner
spaghetti with tomato sauce and Salmon pieces
garden salad (like above)
water
small glass of wine.
dessert
some 70% chocolate OR
fresh strawberries/blueberries with yogurt.
That is just one example of what you can eat and you can see that you won't be hungry!!!
You wont regret it!
